Elma Hoste-Berkenbosch (1968) loved drawing as a child. In high school, the edges of her notebooks were filled with drawings. When she had children around her 30s, she wanted something beautiful for their bedroom, couldn't find it, and started making children's paintings. As a self-taught artist, she has been painting weekly with great pleasure since then, always searching for new styles and forms of expression. Her focus has been on painting everyday objects for years now. About her passion for this, she says: “I love peace, silence, beauty. How the sunlight plays in a glass vase. The colors and structures in vegetables and fruits. Flowers swaying in the wind. I can really marvel at that. I paint that silence!” Elma is a member of the Krimpener Kunstwaard.
