Exposition Arto Theater until the end of 2024

12 September - 2024

SCHOONHOVEN/KRIMPEN AAN DEN IJSSEL • Until the end of December, paintings by Elma Hoste can be seen at the Arto Theater in Schoonhoven, enriched with poetry by her husband, Polder Poet Jorris Hoste

The work of Elma Hoste is characterized by wonder for the everyday and tranquility.

Hoste: “I love peace, silence, beauty. How sunlight plays in a glass vase, colors and structures in vegetables and fruits, flowers swaying in the wind.”

The exhibition shows her work from recent years in context.

‘Poetically, she wordlessly captures the silence’
The paintings are flanked by poetry from Jorris Hoste, Polder Poet of the Krimpenerwaard. Upon his appointment, he was characterized as someone who ‘says a lot with few words’: “That fits well with my partner’s work.”

An excerpt from his poem ‘stilderen’: ‘Poetically, she wordlessly captures the silence on the canvas and no one says anything’.

Opening by Alderman Kirsten Jaarsma
The exhibition will be opened on Friday, September 6 at 8:00 PM by Kirsten Jaarsma, Alderman of Culture of Krimpen aan den IJssel.

Interested parties should register due to limited space via elmahoste.eventbrite.com. After the opening, the exhibition can be seen in combination with a theater visit
