Exposition Arto Theater until the end of 2024
SCHOONHOVEN/KRIMPEN AAN DEN IJSSEL • Until the end of December, at the Arto Theater in Schoonhoven, paintings by Elma Hoste can be seen, enriched with poetry by her husband, Polder Poet Jorris Hoste.
The work of Elma Hoste is characterized by wonder for the everyday and tranquility.
Hoste: “I love peace, silence, beauty. How the sunlight plays in a glass vase, colors and structures in vegetables and fruit, flowers swaying in the wind.”
The exhibition shows her work from recent years in context.
‘Poetically, she captures the silence wordlessly’
The paintings are flanked by poetry from Jorris Hoste, Polder Poet of the Krimpenerwaard. Upon his appointment, he was characterized as someone who ‘says a lot with few words’: “That fits well with the work of my partner.”
An excerpt from his poem ‘stilderen’: ‘Poetically, she captures the silence on the canvas and no one says anything’.
Opening by Alderman Kirsten Jaarsma
The exhibition will be opened on Friday, September 6 at 8:00 PM by Kirsten Jaarsma, Alderman of culture of Krimpen aan den IJssel.
